Blogs and E-Portfolio as Platforms for Summative and Formative Assessment Tools.
Dear teachers and blog visitors,
In this Friday we studied about educational e-portfolios as some of the alternative electronic tools that are used in teaching and learning and in special for Summative and Formative Assessment. Integrated into blogs, the eportfolios, could motivate students to learn and become independent learners, and might provide learners with opportunities to reinforce their learning skills, self-assessment, and their communication with the world – the biggest teaching issues of the 21st century.
A Blog is a very useful platform , which can be used to embed a lot of online tools like: texts, power point presentations, videos, surveys, graphic productions.
Here is a tutorrial, how to create a Blog using Weebly platform.

But there are other several platforms which can be used.
I propose you three of them:
a) Blogger http://www.bloggerthemes.net/
b) Wordpress http://theme.wordpress.com/
c) Weebly http://www.weebly.com/themes/

What is an E-portofolio?
Teachers very often ask their students to create portfolios. In education the electronic portfolio is a collection of a students’ work that can advance learning by providing a way for them to organize, archive, and display work. The electronic format allows an instructor to evaluate student portfolios via the Internet, CD-ROM, DVD, or zip disk. Electronic portfolios have become a popular alternative to paper-based portfolios because they provide the opportunity to review, communicate and give feedback in an asynchronous manner. Surveys and quizzes can be found online, on different topics (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading quizzes), but why not to create your own quizze, on the topic you need and not to search for something which may suit you?
